The local area is an absoloute treat for cyclists. There are quiet lanes, an extensive network of tracks for those who like to get off-road and an ample supply of hills if that is what you are looking for. You can be sure of a warm welcome at The White Horse during or after your ride.
Sometimes its the scenery that takes your breath away, but if you fancy a real challenge, have a crack at Asterton Bank which climbs from the west side of the Long Mynd through the village of Asterton to the viewing point high on the Mynd opposite Church Streeton. This was the featured climb in Cycling Weekly - Thursday 9th May 2006 and we are grateful to them for their kind permission to reproduce it here. You can click here to download a copy of the article from Cycling Weekly in PDF format.
Shropshire County Council have details of a ride from Church Pulverbatch to Ratlinghope Ride in PDF format. The ride starts from the Village Hall Car Park but if you fancy bring bikes on the back of your car then please feel free to park at the White Horse.
Please email our webmaster if you have a favouite ride in the area - we will be glad to feature it here.
